Centenary Cork & Fork
Our “Centenary Cork & Fork” event took place on Sunday, 15 October and what a day it was! The weather was perfect, the course glowing and after all was said and done we even managed to crown some winners. The Team did a great job and I was delighted to receive the following message from Jenny Harvey:
“I just wanted to write and congratulate your team on a truly splendid Centenary Cork and Fork today. The food was exceptional, the staff at all the holes were welcoming, courteous and informative, beverages were great and clearly there had been an incredible amount of work undertaken behind the scenes to deliver such a fabulous event. The course was also in great condition, assisted by a perfect Sydney day. Our guests from Mona Vale and Avondale golf clubs were quite blown away with the whole day. All praise to Peter, Bronwyn and Nicole for the huge part they played in the day’s success, Team Pennant Hills should be very proud of delivering yet another first-class event.”
Our thanks also go to Thomas Robinson (Head Chef at The Lane Vineyard in South Australia) for flying up and shucking all those tasty oysters whilst ensuring that glasses of “The Lois” were available for Members and Guests to enjoy. The party hole was also a big hit and everyone enjoyed the various food and drinks on offer. In terms of the golf played at this event, well you of course had to play pretty well to be in with a shout of winning and the team of John & Chris Fox along with Derek Couper and Geoff Dudley came in with a nett score of 52.75 to beat Evan Ingram, Andrew Sawyer, Gerard Lee and Sam Norton. Again, my thanks to everyone who participated and a big thank you to everyone who dressed up and made the day so much fun.
