I wrote in late July advising that the Club is about to undertake a major transitional upgrade of its operational software.
Our current operational platform is “Info-genesis” it was a popular and capable application in the club industry but has now been superseded by other “whole of club” software innovations, so much so that it is no longer being supported and is a legacy system in decline.
After considerable research we have elected to upgrade to the Northstar Club Management Software. This company was launched in 2003 in the USA with a specialisation in club management systems and has been a spectacular success, all Pack Clubs, NSWGC and others are now operating under the Northstar umbrella. Members are familiar with MiClub which is now owned by Northstar and is an integral part of the offering.
The Board approved the upgrade in May of this year and there has been a considerable amount of back-office preparation to ensure a smooth transition. Staff have attended several training sessions and we had the opportunity to see and test the system live in other places. We are all excited about the increased functionality and efficiency that Northstar will bring and we expect to “go live” on 2 September. There are two (2) areas where Members will notice a difference:
- Member Trading Account: this is a consolidation and simplification where your House Account and House Levy Account are combined into a single account. Your statement will look a little different, but we think it is easier for Members to follow. Craig and Jodi in the office are happy to assist Members who may be unclear about their House Trading Account Statement.
- Direct Debits: this change requires the transaction to go through a payments provider rather than directly to our bank. It requires Members to renew the payment authority form for the EZIDEBIT system. Many of you have completed the new form but a few of you are yet to sign a fresh agreement. If you haven’t, please contact Jodi Sparks in the Office as soon as possible because it interferes with the smooth transition. Thanks.
It was also indicated in my initial note that the Club would provide Members with resources, such as a series of “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ’s), user guides and where a Member needed further assistance, individual training on how to use the software. The following link will take Members to this helpful guide. Those needing assistance or require questions to be answered directly are encouraged to contact me at the Club.
